Marta Bauzà is a lyric soprano born in Pollença (Mallorca, Spain). She began to study singing at the Conservatori Superior de Musica del Liceu in Barcelona, with the soprano Carmen Bustamante.
In 2012, she continued her studies with the tenor Francisco Araiza at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, where she graduated in 2015 with Honourable Mention. She continued there for two more years until finishing her Master’s Degree studies with the soprano Ulrik Sonntag.
She completed her education by attending master classes with Dolora Zajick, Malcolm Walker, Margret Honig, Barbara Bonney, Lionel Sarrazin, Juan Pons and Ernesto Palacio.
She was awarded the second prize in the International Singing Competition of Balaguer in 2016, and the extraordinary prize awarded by the Ferrer-Salat Foundation in the Francisco Viñas International Competition in 2016.
She has sung with the baritone Juan Pons at a charity gala he put on at the Teatre Principal de Palma (Mallorca) in May of 2015, and in the same theatre she debuted as Isidro Guzmán in the opera Maria Moliner by A. Parera in May of 2017.
During the 2017/18 season, she joined the Opera Studio at the Opera National du Rhin in France, where she debuted as Sheherazade in the opera Sindbad by H.Moody, and Garsenda in the opera Francesca da Rimini by R. Zandonai. In the same season, and due to a last-minute substitution, she sang Garsenda again at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (Italy) under the direction of Fabio Luisi.
Among her operatic repertoire are roles such as Susanna from Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart, Musette from La Bohème by Puccini, Micaela de Carmen by Bizet, Sophie in Werther by Massenet, or Violette from La Traviata by Verdi.
In her second season as a member of the Opera Studio at the Opera National du Rhin, she sang Berta in il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini and Amirah in La Princesse Arabe by Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga.
She is currently working in the Opera Studio in the Opera National du Rhin in Strasbourg.
